I remember way back on my old amber-and-black monitor there being a program I could run called SimCGA that would fool the computer into displaying CGA graphics on my monochrome video card. What I am wondering is if there's a way to either upgrade the open GL drivers that I simply haven't found, or if there's a way to "trick" windows into displaying this in spite of the graphics card apparently not being compatible due to being a lower version of OpenGL than the screensaver can use. I have updated to the most recent set of drivers from Dell support. GPU Caps Viewer tells me the renderer is Intel GMA 3100. Running GPU Caps Viewer I see that these machines are at OpenGL 1.4, whereas the machines that can run the screensaver are at OpenGL 2.0.Ĭhipset on these Optiplex 755's is Intel Q35 Express. When the screensaver tries to execute we get a message saying "unable to display this item due to an OpenGL error. Two are optiplex 755s and two are optiplex 520s. Specifically I have 3 Dell desktops that won't display the screensaver.
